Trump lawyer Joe diGenova says election security chief fired by the president should be 'taken out at dawn and shot'

Trump campaign lawyer Joe diGenova said former top US cybersecurity official Christopher Krebs should be "taken out at dawn and shot" and "drawn and quartered"

Krebs was fired by Trump last month after saying that the November 3 election was "the most secure in American history" and dismissed the outgoing president's baseless allegations of widespread voter fraud

DiGenova's comments come after Rudy said Giuliani during a recent interview with Fox News that somebody should "cut the top off" the Democratic Party while making a throat-slashing gesture

ction, should be "drawn and quartered" and "taken out at dawn and shot"

Trump fired Krebs from his role as Director of the Cybersecurity and Infrastructure Security Agency last month after his agency said that the November 3 election was "the most secure in American history," and rejected the president's baseless voter fraud claims

"There is not any evidence that any electoral system deleted or lost votes, changed votes, or was in any way compromised," Krebs said

Krebs doubled down in an interview on Sunday, saying that prime numbers of paper ballots used at the election "gives you the power to prove that there was no malicious algorithm or hacked software that adjusted the tally of the vote." He told CBS News: "Ninety-five percent of the ballots cast within the 2020 election had a paper record related to it... Compared to 2016, about 82%."

DiGenova, who CNN reported helps Rudy Giuliani with Trump's legal challenge, told the Howie Carr show on Newsmax that: "Anybody who thinks the election went well, like that idiot Krebs who wont to be the top of cybersecurity [for Trump]. That guy may be a class-A moron

"He should be drawn and quartered. Taken out at dawn and shot"

Media Matters for America, a left-leaning media watchdog, published footage of the remarks. Insider has asked the Trump campaign for comment

It is not the primary time since last month's election that a figure on the Trump campaign has used violent language to focus on perceived opponents
